Geforce GTX 550 Ti crashing

I got a gtx 550 ti 3 gb version . Well... the thing is that the video card is crashing when temps reach 50°C and i have no idea what to do. Btw im using msi afterburner and that solves nothing. By "crash" i mean i get a little laggy mouse dor 2 seconds then the colors changes to something purple like , and after that i get BSOD... im not buying some watercooling system or dunno but does the card needs a reflow or smth like this ? And i can't return it tho ... but there's one more thing , there was 1 time when i got on my monitor some spray like collors likr purple blue yellow all over the screen and the sound was looping . Any ideas ?

50'C shouldn't crash a card. Sounds more like a driver issue to me.

Where did you acquire this card?

Try running DDU (in safe mode), removing all GPU drivers, rebooting & reinstalling.
