GeForce GTX 780 Price Drop Aug 2014

Hello, I want to get the EVGA gtx 780, but some rumors suggest that the gtx 880 will be released soon.
Can anyone predict what will be the price drop for the 780?

The 670 went from £300ish to £220 and then £180-190 when stock were low in a similar situation, i.e. the release of the 770.

Rumor has it that 870 have the performance as 780, while using less power.

I'm hearing 10-20% more perf, at same or lower power and lower cost. Seems optimistic, but plausible apart from the cost.

As I now understand the gtx 880 will only be released next year, so there probably would not be any price drop for the gtx 780 any time soon.

Thanks, but I am now a bit confused because at (http://www.kdramastars.com/articles/32965/20140813/gtx-800-series-release-date.htm) launch date is March 2015 which was released at Gamescom, while at (http://www.bit-tech.net/news/hardware/2014/08/05/gigabyte-gtx-880/1) the launch date is September 2014.
So I will wait till next month and see for myself.

You only need to wait till 17 of august to see what nvidia has in they store .Thats the end day for gamescom revealing date.

Not beeing cheeky but man if you post new's then don't post news that are outdated because korkotyan posted his question on 13 august. Hope the OP hasn't brought an overpriced 780?
