Hi, I am tring to decifer if a GPU that some one lent me is damaged or what.
When I turned on the computer the GPU fans start at maximum speed, but then the GPU is not recognized in either linux or windows. I already tried to configure the BIOS to use the PCIe slot and disable the IGFX, but when I do that the machine beeps 3 times. I guess this means the GPU is not recognized at all.
I have a new PSU that has enough power, but I don't know if the PSU could be malfunctioning. I wanted to know if the GPU gets power without putting it in the PCIe, and just with the PSU. After I did that, the fans won't start, but I don't know if this is becouse it wasn't in the PCIe slot, or if the PSU is malfunctioning. I already use a tester to check the +12V, and at least that is gud.
Another thing is that the GPU fits into the PCIe slot a little lose, is there a way to check if this is a issue?
MOBO: Gigabyte ga h97 gaming 3
GPU: Galaxy GeForce GTX 780 Ti Hall Of Fame
PSU: 750 W, +12V 62.5A

EDIT: Now I think the GPU could be damaged. I tried it on a different mobo and different PSU, and its the same effect. Is there a way to repair a GPU? or at least make a diagnostic?
Thanks
