I've been looking around the internet and have come across answers saying that it is compatible with my motherboard and that the CPU wouldn't bottleneck the graphics card and then I've come across a few posts saying that it 'Could' bottleneck it.
Price isn't really much of a problem here since everything has been looked into but I've got one problem, the question remains unanswered.
So, Can the GTX 960 4GB or 2GB run on these specs:

CPU: AMD phenom II x4 960T 3.0GHz (Already overclocked to x6)
Motherboard: ASUS M4A78LT-M
RAM: 8GB

The answer to the “is a 4GB video card worth it?” question is a decidedly boring “it depends.” As above, some games – like ACU – will actually make noteworthy gains with additional memory

The extra VRAM up-to 4GB (fully usable yes!) we feel will make the product a little more future proof. We find 2GB is shy yet sufficient, 4GB offer you a little breathing space, but do not expect miracles in performance.

as I said go with the 4gb so if its needed you have it not wishing you did in the end

should work on that board ?? but with things anything can go wrong...
why ?? the 4gb is not much more then a 10- 25 buck difference ??? and you got the extra if the need was to pop up and then they done see the 2gb is not worth it and maybe discontinuing it ??

just silly to still go 2gb the gtx960 ftw 4gb was selling at egg for 210 after rebate [today its price in cart ]

should work on that board ?? but with things anything can go wrong or you could get the lemon ?? that's the risk we all take buying new parts

best to do is google around to see if anybody has your board and got a 960 and having issues with it ???

good luck
