GeForce GTX 960 4GB Power Cable?

Hi all,

This is perhaps an amazingly stupid question, but I just bought a GeForce GTX 960 4GB to replace my old gfx card that burned out. It seems the PC shop I took my pc into accidentally removed my existing power supply cord to my old gfx card, and I don't have another that fits the new 960s power slot.

Is it possible to run the machine/gfx card without the auxiliary power cable plugged in? Obviously this isn't ideal, but I'm really antsy to take it for a spin. And, being a Sunday afternoon, nowhere is open for me to go and buy one.

To clarify, I don't have a power cable to run from my power supply into the new gfx card, and my old one seems to have gone AWOL. Can it run without the auxiliary power cable?

Thanks for the assistance.
