So recently I purchased a GTX 970, due to being busy with exams I have only really just started to use it. Initially I was pretty underwhelmed with how it performed, The Witcher 3 suffers from audio stuttering and some lag on high settings when the Nvidia website says it should be able to run on ultra. Battlefield 4 suggests that I should run the game on medium settings and there is noticeable lag if I run higher than this. I purchased Metro last light in the Steam summer sale and I get 10-30fps with very high settings on and I cannot get more than 30fps on Cities Skylines on high settings.
I have run a benchmark test to see if I could explain any of this and the results are: my PC and Gaming PC with same card as me . The gaming PC in the results has a score that is more than double mine when I am using the same graphics card (I am not sure the difference in CPUs is here but I still would not expect such a large difference). I have a 550W power supply which I think should be enough.
I've looked in the Nvidia control panel and everything seems to be running correctly and all drivers are up to date. I have noticed that my wificard in my computer is blocking part of the fans on the graphics card. I have ordered a new usb wifi dongle so will be removing this from my case soon anyway, but could that be the source of the problem?
