[SOLVED] GeForce RTX 3070 Ventus 2X - Fans 100% at Startup

Hello,

For the past 5 days when I boot up my MSI desktop PC, the video card (GeForce RTX 3070 Ventus 2X - 461.72 drivers) fans begin to spin at apparently 100%. I need to reboot the PC for them to quiet down/turn off. So far I haven't seen anything weird happening in games, but it's concerning to me that this behavior began for no apparent reason. I haven't changed any fans settings that I recall, and MSI Dragon Center/Afterburner do not start on boot. I've tried waiting it out after I turn on the PC to see if the fans gradually decrease in speed or turn off, but they don't until I restart the PC from Windows 10.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? Speaking of which what is the make and model of your motherboard? Are you on version 20H2 for your OS? Make sure you've reinstalled the chipset drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator. Then try and use DDU to uninstall your GPU drivers. Once done, reinstall said GPU driver in an elevated command.

As of this moment, the latest driver version is 466.27.

Thanks for answering!

My motherboard is a Z490 A-PRO (MS-7C75). I have not updated to the latest BIOS. I was hoping to do that as a last resort since I haven't experienced any other problems with the PC.

Windows is 20H2.

I will update my drivers to 466.27 and see if that works first. Thank you for your suggestions!
