News GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming GPU Drops to $884 at Amazon

Of all the cards produced in this era between amd and nvidia this card seems to be the most appealing.
More appealing would be a 10GB version at the $699 the 3080 was supposed to cost. Getting similar performance with slightly more VRAM for a couple hundred dollars more does not exactly make for a particularly good value, especially considering these cards are nearing a couple year old at this point, and their successors will likely be available within a matter of months.

the 12GB mostly is faster than the 3080ti, but yeah the price the price the price

This is a joke. 900 for a 2 year old graphics card. Please don't' buy this. This link provided is a affiliate link from toms hardware. I'm pretty tired of these rubber stamp tech reviewers. I hear the rational now. It's gross. "I'm just reporting on facts". The fact is that nvidia is price gouging and taking advantage of Mining, and shortages to drive up prices. Nvidia doesn't really support these cards after 2 years they move on to the next thing. Your paying all this money for ray tracing who cares. have you actually seen the ray tracing vs not ,and how many games actually support it.

O below MSRP. The msrp should be 600. When nvidia detected how stupid everyone is they raised it to 1300. I would wait two years and get an xbox or ps5 if it were me for the next year or two. Mark my words this card wont' be worth anything in 3 months. The only people buying this are the ones that will want the 4080. So i ask why. If your looking for a deal wait. It will get cheaper. This makes me so mad.

GO ahead and buy this.

Considering the performance difference between the original 3080 10GB and the 3090 only amounted to 10-15% at most at 4K resolution, adding all these cards in-between served no real purpose other than to drive up the MSRP over the 3080's launch price. The 3080 Ti, I could almost see as a viable product, as the 3090's extra VRAM is largely useless for gaming, making it not worth paying extra for, but the 3080 12GB seems to fill the exact same niche, serving no purpose but to allow Nividia to stop making the original model in order to drive up the price point.
