oh ? so its funny that there could be people out there, where, the games they play, are on a comp only ? what games do you play on a console ? i bet NONE of them are ones i would play.

unless you think games like starcraft, Age of empires, WoW, are casual games.....
The last console I owned was an Atari 2600. My kids have Switches and of course Steam, EA, and GOG accounts. I can just see how this is going to end. PC gaming is becoming a boutique market. When the 60 series comes out get ready for the 6060 starting at over a grand. Why? Because by that time the 6060 will perform like a 4080. The 6080 will go for $2500 and the 6090 will be $4k. Those prices may look insane, but that is the trajectory we are on. Nvidia won't care if they sell half as many cards as long as their margins have tripled. The game industry won't ignore the decline. Get ready for even more minimal effort ports and fewer PC titles. The game costs the same whether you play it on a $1000 PC or a $5000 one. Game developers need volume and a shrinking PC segment will run them off. This has all happened before you know.

This is a good point. There are a lot of strategy and simulation games that aren't available on consoles and don't really appeal to that market. Also hard to buy a console release of a game if the PC version develops a robust modding community. When the console games aren't appealing and the PC hardware doesn't meet the expectations of gamers, then we need reviewers, publications, and influencers to make noise for us.

the whole " pc market is dieing " thing has been going on for years now, whats your point ?
watch those cards cost that much, and still provide crappy performance for the price as they do now, compared to their higher tier siblings, point is ? part of the reason they are so expensive now, is cause of the crypto boom bursting, and nvidia not realizing it, and because people keep buying them at these prices. what seems to be some backlash over the 4060(ti) and their performance, might show nvidia how crappy their cards are, and how over priced they are as well.

my point STILL stands, IF there are no games on a console that a person wants to play, buying a console is a waste of money, and that money is better spent, on a comp upgrade for that person, who may already have a working comp that " could " play the game if it was released on both.. im sorry you dont seem to understand that concept, but what ever...

i never really played ( or play them now ) but a FPS on a console, with a controller vs a comp with a keyboard and mouse, doesnt even make sense to me as i have friends that played those games, using a mouse to aim,. seems alot easier to do, then on a controller. i cant even think of what it would be like to play an RTS on a console, is that even possible ?

I Just thought I'd mention there are quite a lot of games that can be played with Keyboard and mouse on consoles and has been for quite a while.

There is Zero value in a games console if the system's don't have the game/s you personally play but that's is your choice.

I took My PC off line not going to bother upgrading it any further for two reasons

1. when I got the PC (second hand) it was to be used for Music creation, that's it nothing more.
But being an ex PC gamer, I just ended up bench marking and testing more than playing games lol I got side tracked and started first thinking hmmmm that R5 5600 looks nice for the price
ooo look 32gig ram kit I need that!
oooo look a very cheap secondhand RX5600XT I need that lol
ooo look the RX7600XT price has dropped ooooo I need to stop upgrading this PC.
I fell off the wagon and got side tracked.

2. I have an Xbox which is more powerful than my PC for gaming and uses a lot less total system power, I play lots of the games on there, so I don't need a PC for gaming these days.

I wasn't looking to get back in to gaming on PC's but started falling down the I need to upgrade when really I don't, so nah I'm good thanks console is good enough and will do for gaming while my PC will do for messing around with music creation.

What people game on will be a personal preference for some and others don't care what they game on just as long as they have something they can game on it as simple as that.

Who cares what is better, if your enjoying what you are playing then the system it's played on will not matter to the person enjoying what they are playing.

Funny thing is Bill Gates Dreamed of every house hold having a PC running Microsoft Products he prob's didn't realise at the time the easiest way to get anywhere close to achieving this would be to sell games.

With the latest gen and previous gen Xbox consoles you can do a lot more than just play games also one of the big things people do is social media and web browsing.

obviously Consoles don't give you all that a PC has to offer but Microsoft and Sony have ended up getting a PC in a lot of peoples living rooms but in games consoles clothing.

For what I use a PC these days my console gets used more than the PC.

web browsing, streaming media or just watching the odd blu-ray film, cheapest way to play 4k (Not that I care about 4k these days if i'm honest) , can use keyboard and mouse, there are also a lot of apps etc

I mean what do I need a PC for these days really? messing around with music creation for fun.

If money wasn't the Issue I would have a really top of the line PC even if I didn't need it but it is and with the ever rising cost of living I will be out living my means, so really I will just make the best use I can out of what I already have.
