GeForce Stalls During Games

I just switched from a TNT to the GeForce3Ti450. I noticed now that 1 out
of 5 times playing a game (or typically loading) the game program will lock
or get into a stutter stalled loop. It just pauses and goes into some type
of loop.

Is the card? Is there a setting I should use?

system 128K, 1.1ghz asus

IS the Asus mobo using VIA chipset? Early generation Geforce had
various issues with via KX and KT series. Do in order:

update 4in1 drivers (or other chipset if pentium)
update dx - dx 8.1b preferred, not 9
update geforce drivers

The order is important!

Then in your BIOS, turn off fastwrites (sideband is usually ok), set AGP
to 64MB.

If you are using Win2k, make sure you upgraded to service pack 2 or
higher - original Win2K had an AGP bug.

Hope this helps....Its from memory and us old geezers get a bit foggy at
times.

Then definitely check out the latest 4in1 driver. There was once a PCI
latency patch, now included, that worked wonders with stutters and stalls.

Whic games are you playing when you get the problems? And which driver are
you using for the video card?
