Geforce2 MX on KT7?

I've got a 700MHz Duron, Abit KT7, 128Mb Crucial PC133 CAS 2, SB Live and need to upgrade my videocard. Does anyone have any recommendations when it comes to Geforce2 MX cards on the KT7. The Creative DDR version sounded good but I now know that the memory runs at half the speed of SDR making it identical, or worse, even slower.

I'd like to know if there are any bios settings I might have to change.

Watch out for the OEM versions with 6.5 or 7ns memory. They run slower than the retail versions which have 5.5ns memory (I believe). Not all OEM video cards have slow memory. Just don't buy the ones that do.

Retail is better if you can afford the extra cost. You can return a retail card if you have compatibility issues.

You can do better overclocking cards with the faster memory (if you are into that sort of risky thing. LOL).

You'll need the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers for your mobo. 4.28 is circulating around but I think 4.25a is still the last official release.

I'd just say stay away from those Creative DDR card as far as you can.

I have a Hercules 3DProphet2 MX and its running great. It has that nice 5.5ns memory and is a good OC'er. If you want a good MX card get the Hercules. There should even be a 64MB version coming out soon that shouldnt be too much more that the 32MB out right now. That might be a better buy if you can wait.

I think the Hercules or Elsa cards seem the best bet although being an Abit mobo I might consider their offering. It sounds like the memory speed can vary alot. I've already discounted the Creative DDR on those grounds.
