I've come to the conclusion that currently the GeForce4 Ti4200 is the best bang for the buck (as of today...next week will probably bring a different story). I haven't found too many reviews of the different brands (PNY, MSI, VisionTek, etc.), nor have I heard anything about which is best to get (64MB or 128MB). I was wondering, which would be the better one to get...the 64MB with its higher memory clock speed, or the 128MB with more memory. Which is more important when it comes to speed? The PNY 64MB card is on sale this week for $130...I'm hoping you all say the 64MB is better to go with 😉

There is little difference between the 64mb and 128mb at the same clock speed on any card made before R300(Radeon 9700PRO) and I'm not sure about it. Of course a different gaming engine might change that, but none out today will.

Dropping clock rate does seriously affect performance.

Go with the 64mb version at a high memory clock.

Pain is the realization of your own weakness.

I'd suggest going with the 128 MB one - and check out Gainward for a manufacturer. They are a pretty good nVidia card manufacturing company. :)

I have yet to hear a good reason why 128mb will make any difference at all in the next 12 months. Buying capacity ahead of time is spending on the wrong end of the price performance curve.
