Hi - I bought this drive to give my MSI GE70 an additional boost. I've been able to format the drive but am having problems cloning it. I downloaded a couple of programs to help clone but none of them will clone so that I can boot off of the drive.

How can I clone my existing C drive onto this new SSD then swap drives out so that I can boot off of the SSD? Are there any free programs out there that would do this? I downloaded: EaseUS and Acronis. It looked like EaseUS was working but then suddenly it kept throwing up errors saying I had to buy the full version to complete this task even though the free version was doing it and as per their site it should do it.

I probably should have stuck with the Samsung SSD, bought that for another computer and it was flawless. The software provided did everything. Guess you get what you pay for. Worst case scenario, I return this drive.

Any help you can provide is appreciated...

Thanks in advance!

So managed to get the drive cloned 100% from my existing HDD but I can't make it bootable.

Used an application called Reflect to do a clone...

why oh why do people NOT use the built-in functionality in Win7 / Win8.1 to actually do this? it's native, it works, it's free, etc... all you need is a separate drive onto which to store the image (which you should anyways as a form of backup)

Ended up making a backup/restore of my drive and created a "brand new" boot disk. Not what I wanted to do, and with my Samsung it was sooooo much easier.
