Sometimes while playing any game on my computer, it will
automatically reboot itself. I am running an ASUS
motherboard, 2.8ghz P4, 2 Gigs of memory, an ATI Radeon
9600, and with Windows XP.
After the computer reboots, the event log says this under
"System":

"The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x000000d1 (0xe4dfa000, 0x0000001d, 0x00000000,
0xe4dfa000). A dump was saved in:
D:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini100904-06.dmp.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

The link that it gives me doesn't help at all. Anyone have
any idea what's going on? Please email if you do. Thank you,
-Nathan Rulli

Hi Nate,

As stated, your system is restarting as a result of a STOP error.

To stop this behavior go to Control Panel / System / Advanced /
Click the Startup and Recovery Settings button / Uncheck the box
labeled "Automatically restart" under the System Failure section.

To analyze the error, try the steps in: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

You'll see that error on the screen when it happens...
If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
the instructions at: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/Video.html#drivers
