General Lighting Flickers when i use my PC

I run a system with i7 2600k along with Asus Z87 Mobo.

Many times it randomly restarts, like once in 7-8 hours. I ruled out any software issues coz it just abruptly stops and starts again.

I think its something to do with either Mobo gone bad or my PSU. I suspect Mobo because only one out of the 4 ram slots work, so maybe somethings wrong there.

Another strange thing is, when there is a power cut out, my pc restarts even though we have a whole home UPS. My other pc just works fine.

And when this system works on the Home UPS, most of the lights in my home flicker including the CFL's and a couple of LED's as well.

Any clues?

My PSU is a Corsair VS550 if that helps.

That PSU is a tier 4 so its not very good.
That computer restarts when the UPS operates because it is unable to hold up power during the very brief time when the UPS switches in, another sign of a poor power supply.
I think it would be in your interests to replace the PSU.
