Geometry dash crackling problem

I recently downloaded windows 10 and am currently using it, since then whenever I boot up geometry dash from steam, the games music would be replaced by the sound of crackling which is very bad. I have a texture pack installed on geometry dash but I've never come across this problem before help.

Try the following fix and see if it works for you. In Steam, right-click on Geometry Wars and click Properties. Navigate to the Local Files tab and click Browse Local Files. In the Explorer window that appears, open the Resources folder. Right-click on any of the MP3 format sounds and select Properties. Press the "Change" button next to "Opens With." Double-click on Windows Media Player.
