APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next 4 to 7 months.
USAGE: I will mostly be using it to game on, work in photoshop, render videos, and live stream to twitch.
PARTS PREFERENCES: nVIDIA
OVERCLOCKING: Maybe
MONITOR RESOLUTION: I'm hoping to use 1440p or 4k
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I basically wondering if I should wait to pick up a 1080 soon or wait for the TI version to come out. Why or why not with information and stats would be great. I will be making a completely new build from the ground up. Also I am aware that there is 0 information about the TI's yet, and that it is some time away from being released, and I understand that the 1080 also have very little info out atm.

Thanks!

The 780Ti & 980Ti launched about a year after the 780 & 980. If a 1080Ti even exists which it may not Id expect about a year wait, NVIDIA will milk the 980 at flagship prices for as long as possible. Now if AMD fight back and hit hard then NVIDIA might do something sooner.

This is pure speculation but that's what I think will happen

It is a safe bet that the TI will not be out in 7 months, let alone 4. You will have to hang on to your gear until q1-q2 2017 if you want to get the 1080ti - it that is what they will name it.

Ti i would guess will be early 2017 if i had to make a guess on current information I personally am waiting for TI and my reasoning is i dont ever really want to go SLI as i believe single card will always have less issues and that will be the beastliest card out there.

The 980 Ti was about 9 months after the release of the 980 and 970.

I agree with Dustin above...given how strong the 1080 appears to be, you may not need to wait for a Ti variant.

Wait for AMDs pascal, also comes out in summer, could offer better preformance. As for the 1080, you don't really need a ti, enogh preformace with the 1080

PS wait a few months after the release. At release price will be skyhigh, afte it may drop

But after a period of time it will cost less.
