I was initially going for the 980 to hybrid but since it has been out of stock so long and that I don't have the money quite yet I was thinking of just buying a 980 ti reference card then getting a 980 ti hybrid cooler for it later because they are both in stock. Is there any big difference or so between a 980 ti hybrid vs a 980 ti with hybrif cooler besides the hybrif being factory overclocked, any temp difference.

Solution
Since the 7xx series, I have seen no difference in performance between custom water loop water cooled and non reference air cooled designs. You will reach the voltage limit long before you reach the temp limit in any adequately cooled system.

As for hybrid CLC type coolers in general, to my eyes, I just don't see any ROI.
