I currently game on 2K and sometime 1080p. When I play alone I basically do it on 1080p but while recording it for YouTube videos I play on 4K. And I wanna go for a GPU that will at least give me the ability to Max-Out (Ultra) all games with the maximum amount of FPS for at least next 2-3 yrs!
Which one should I go for? Titan x or just wait for R9 390x and get that?

My Current specs: i7 4770k 3.5ghz
MoBo: G1.Sniper B5
Ram: 8GB 1600mhz Corsair Vengeance
PSU: Thermaltake 850 Watt Smart Power
Resolution: 4K/ 2K/ 1080p

Depends on if you want to wait for an unspecified amount of time for the 390 to be released. So many things are still up in the air about the 300 series and I haven't seen any reviews yet of actual hardware, nor any reliable photos.

Personally, I won't be paying $1,000 for my next GPU, but I want to see what AMD comes out with before I can make that decision, or recommend a course of action for others.

If you are in no hurry, I'd wait and see what the real benchmarks on the 300s are, and their prices, and to see how their release moves the price on the Titans (if at all). Until that happens, your own guess is as good as anyone else's.

LOL.. I think the above poster missed something...

I would say wait for the R9 390X, except we have no idea when its coming. It could be next month or next year, or anything inbetween.

So the choice is yours. We should find out additional info next month, and you might get a timeframe or something then. But AMD likes being cagey about things until they are right at the shipping point. So I don't know. I do think the R9 390X will be a mind blower. But I will be the first to admit that even that is speculation at this point.

Well, AMD did say last week that the new 300 series for desktop will have HBM... High Bandwidth Memory. This is stacked, very low latency memory sitting on the GPU package right next to the GPU. Power usage for the memory will be at last 50% lower, while memory speed should be at least 3x what GDDR5 offers. I've seen speculation that this could have a 1024 bit bandwidth. Or more.

The 300 series for desktops is going to be the first GPU's Lisa Su (AMD CEO) has had her hands all over since she has been the CEO. With her engineering background, I have to believe she wants to hit a grand slam with these chips.
