So I recently added a second monitor (well, TV used as a monitor) to my desktop setup. I am running my "primary" monitor off my Nvidia GTX 670, and the "secondary" off the internal chipset (Intel Graphics HD4000 iGPU functionality). I am also using the program "DisplayFusion" to have different wallpapers on each monitor, and to have my Taskbar displayed across both monitors. Two separate HDMI cords are being used. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64-bit.

I'm wondering, is it possible (either default through Windows or a downloadable program) to make my computer output audio through the appropriate monitor? For example, if I have a YouTube video open on my left monitor, the audio plays through the left monitor because that is the one I have selected as Windows "Default Audio Device." If I were to move the video to the right monitor (or open the video on the right monitor, for that matter), the audio would continue to play out of the left monitor. What I want to happen is for, if I have a window playing audio on my right monitor, to play sound out of that monitor's speakers.

Is this possible in any way or am I SOL unless I can connect an external set of speakers/headphones? I do have some computer speakers, but I have next to no space remaining on my desk in which to put them.

You'll have to use a third party program to do it, windows doesn't differentiate between monitors that way and only really wants to have a single audio device. Someone had asked a similar question a while ago and had found a program that would do it, but i don't believe the free version did nor do i remember the name of the program :/

The real solution here is to get a single set of legitimate speakers and have them flank the monitors, better speakers and no weird settings to fiddle with 😉
Tricky issue..... most you can do I think is to assign one audio device to specific programs (you configure that inside each program assuming it has the option for it) so you could say configure VLC to use always left monitor and you'd have to always use left monitor to have it synchronized the way you want, while setting the right monitor to use the default audio device for web-browsing and such.

Beyond that I don't know of any option for what you exactly want.
