Get more out of a PCI GeForce 8400 GS

Nov 2, 2009
I recently purchased a new computer -- Quad Core i7, 8GB DDR3 memory -- solid machine. It came with a GeForce GTD 240, which seems to be a great card. However, I run three monitors and needed a card for the third one so I grabbed a GeForce 8400 GS and put it in the PCI slot.

I don't need that monitor to work hard, but it's pretty bad. For example, when Windows wants to pop a "permission" question and grays out the screens, I can see the redraw on that one. It also causes things like Jing to run poorly, since it draws on all three screens at the same time.

Is there anyway to allocate a bit more memory to that card? Or should I rethink the video card setup completely?
