Get new monitor or wait?

Hello there. I wanted to get a new VGA and a monitor (because i use a TV and that sucks). I wanted to get a GTX960 and a 23-24inch Asus monitor to get everything out of the VGA, but I wont be needing the VGA because I will go to the army in September and next gen is coming so i am gonna postpone it. But would it worth to get the monitor now? I would enjoy some good resolution for the summer gaming and that would be easier to buy them separately because together they cost a lot. The question is what would be the difference if i get a good monitor now instead of waiting for a bout 1 year (better price, new technology,etc.)? The one i want is the ASUS VX238H.
