It's more like $180 and $170 (thanks to the 0.99).

It's indeed a good deal if you compare these offers to the prices on NewEgg or Amazon. The vendor on eBay states it already sold several hundreds units (if you trust the vendor).

It's cheaper than it's historically been, that's all. Especially if you consider it launched at $450, less than 2.5 years ago.

Whether that $180 price represents a good value is a different question. I think it does, but then I paid $220 for one, back in January. Not for gaming.

It's surprising to me that the cheapest price is on ebay, given the seller is AMD authorized and not someone shady. Even Microcenter has it for $200, right now.

For a long time, I had my eye on the 5700X, but it wasn't on the supported list of the motherboard I wanted. That changed, by the time I finally bought the 5800X, but by then I had convinced myself I could tame the 5800X by customizing power & all-core boost limits.
