Get Windows 7 on old HD to boot in new computer

I upgraded my PC with a new motherboard, RAM, and SSD. Windows repair disc finds Windows 7 installed on the old HD but can't repair it. I suspect that it's because it doesn't have the drivers needed for the new motherboard.

Is there a way to get the new drivers installed?

you may need to do a fresh install if that windows was installed on a old build it will reject it on the new one cause its tied to that old build

If it won't boot you are left with doing a clean install.

Hello... Yes, in most cases you have to delete the old Windows install and make a new one... Un-plug your OLD drive and install with the SSD connected only. Then plug it back in after your SSD Windows install is happy, Make the Old Drive Partitions Active, then you can access your Old Drive files

The best thing to do when you change the MB, is to do a fresh install because it has other technologies, different drivers, different controllers etc

I have a different situation. Having hyperlink transport errors on an MSI 880 MB.
On the HD I have have one-time student downloads of several MS products; office, Publisher, etc.
Have Win7 Professional retail copy. Would like to get the HD to work in next build. Understand about the drivers, but there is a way to swap the disk to a new system. Have to make a bootable CD ie rescue disk from current system.
