I think my graphics card might have over heated and caused internal damage and limiting is power. Or something along those line and i ran a stress test and i was getting 6 fps when i know my Geforce Gtx 970 should be doing better. Any way to Determin what is happening??

Is it possible that it could be the Nvidia Drivers?
And doesnt my Gtx 970 have to be compatible with my other motherboard but the only othero ne i have is from like 2006

I have to pay for them to get updated I dont have the money...

u dont have to pay for anything...just go to the nvidia driver page for 970 and download it and run it...or u can do it from ur geforce experience as well...
just make sure u clean all residual drivers through display driver uninstaller from guru3d...its free too...

Ok so i did it and wiped my drivers but should i just run my driver cd i got from my graphics card box or just go from the nvidia website. sorry i dont know this stuff im just trying to learn and fix this stuff.

Did it and it worked for like 3 hours then i went to bed and this morning happened again...

Wont let me do that either ahaha cant reinstall windows becuase it says im missing media files

That is awful advice. Has everyone who knows nothing about computers been taught to say "update your drivers" and "reinstall windows" just to sound smart to the even more clueless people?
