Question Getting 120 FPS but vram being used is 7.5 GB - RTX 3070 ti

I am going crazy about this because i just took a rtx 3070 ti on a crazy deal (basically costed me as much as a 3060 ti) but now that I am playing games like Hogwarts especially, it is giving me weird performance. I am seeing that the vram being used is 7.5 GB on ultra settings (RT turned on or off still gets my vram over 7 GB). Why I am worried about this is because when i play resident evil 4, i see that the vram available is like 7.1 GB so 7.5 GB being used in hogwarts means that it is too much. I tried High settings and I still get Vram over 7.1 GB. Funny thing is that in every setting, I am getting 120 FPS locked (playing at 120 hz) but the reason why i am writing this is because i keep getting dips and stutter which drops the FPS below 60 at times and then goes up to 120 but the stuttering is quite annoying. Is this just game related or this is exactly what having less vram means? Also my ram is ddr5 but only 16 GB. Could that be the culprit for this stuttering in Hogwarts? Other games seem to be running fine like resident evil 4 and RDR2.

I'd argue it's just Hogwarts. While this is indicative of the video card not having enough VRAM, a lot of other games I've tested when they can't use more VRAM tend to have a lower maximum frame rate instead.

You could see if lowering the texture and shadow quality helps, since those two tend to eat the most VRAM.

I’ll try those. Although having them as “high” had no impact on the vram but it is ridiculous that the card is able to handle a lot more raw power but is limited by some vram that no one used to bat an eye about few years back.
