Hi all, I'm new to the forum and a nimrod when it comes to stuff like this.
I have a semi old school laptop on a docking station right now with 1 VGA and 1 DVI input. I'm trying to hook up 3 monitors to the laptop (but not using the laptop screen), and not mirror the monitors, but have the extended display for each.
I've got 2 going no problem, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the 3rd to work. I have 1 monitor running DVI to the docking station and the other running VGA.
I got a ConnectGear 2 port video splitter thinking I could just use that to split the other 2 monitors via VGA and have the 3rd on DVI.
The system won't recognize the 3rd monitor and the most I can get it to do is only mirror the second monitor and then it will automatically shut off.
Will this not work, having one monitor DVI , and then using the video splitter for VGA on the other 2 ? I'm totally lost on how to get all 3 up and going with the extended interface vs the mirroring.
