Getting a LCD Screen

Well, I've been gaming on a CRT monitor for the last two years. Now I'm going to switch to a LCD. I wanted to switch to a LED, But I can't afford one, as of now... Is there major differences in the image quality? Or would I get eye backstrain from an LCD monitor?

LED monitors usually have brighter picture. LED refers to backlight not to pixels. Older LCDs had fluorescent backlight
