Getting a liquid cooler soon. Need advice.

So first off, I actually wont be doing much overclocking, I think. I just want a freaking quiet computer, so I am also getting the NZXT Kraken G10 and another liquid cooler probably with a big radiator for the top of my case for my GPU. But question is, for my CPU, I have a 8350. Which will the H55 do me justice for not overclocking?

It will keep the CPU cool if that is what you mean. It is not at all quiet though.

CPU temps will be lower, but it typically takes replacing the stock cooler fans with some quieter variants to see any noticeable difference in noise. I personally run a Corsair H100i and opted to replace the stock radiator fans for some Noctua NF-F12's to quiet it down. This Proved to be quite the difference in the long run in terms of cooling potential and noise (although the fans were not cheap).

You also should take into consideration that the water pump makes some noise as well. Check into the RPMs and decibels that certain closed loop systems run, it could also be the difference between a quiet and obnoxious PC.

I'm sure. Obviously you and I may differ on what we consider quiet but I don't consider it quiet at all. To get any kind of reasonable performance out of a small CLC like that one you need to run the fans at a very high speed and it is not quiet. As someone else said you can replace the fans with better, quieter ones, but even the best fan makes what I consider to be unreasonable amount of noise when blowing at high speed through a radiator. Any decent high end air cooler will give you similar performance and be much much quieter.

Sure will, ran a antec kuhler 620 on a stock x6 1090t, under load the fan gets a little noisy and some warm air exhausting, but no oc ull be fine. If ur going for low noise id consider a higher end closed loop cooler or a air cooler.

I have no experience with the H55 or any other liquid coolers than the 620, but it wasnt that quiet under load. I wouldnt buy the lower end AIO liquid coolers as i know i can get a decent air cooler for cheaper, and the only reason i got the antec was best buy has clearanced them down to $40. Maybe if u changed the stock fans or controlled the speeds it'd be quiet but then again this is an antec im talking about not a corsair

i consider my zalman cnps 9900max quiet at %100 and its the loudest thing in my case. With two 200mm 1 230mm a 180mm the cpu cooler and the two fans on my asus 7970 and a quiet mode psu fan, its the only thing i can hear over my other pc about 5ft away with a full speed CM v6 GT and 4 120mm fans.

Really if u can control the fan speed or set a profile for the cpu fan and liquid coolers pump to keep it quiet, then either get nice aftermarket case fans or go with bigger fans. I can turn my cpu cooler to silent, gpu to auto fan speed, and at idle my pc is very quiet.
