Getting a new desktop

Does anyone have any recommendations for a desktop or laptop I should buy for gaming. My alien ware has hit its limits were it has a heart attack whenever I open any system and "someone" stuck a pencil in the fan and it sounds like a lawnmower. It has to be under 9000-1000 dollars. Thanks

You know, it's not impossible to get your Alienware unit running proper again.
Ignoring that aspect, where are you shopping? Do you have any brand preference? What is the primary purpose of the computer? Do you want to use it for intensive tasks such as gaming or...?
