I am building a desktop system, and I am in need of a monitor. I don't really have a set budget, but under $250, is what I am comfortably willing to spend.

I will be using this for gaming, surfing, movies, and video editing.
The size of the screen that I want should be at least 24-26 inches, 1080 resolution.

Can you see the individual pixels on the larger screens, compared to the smaller ones?

Here are some monitors that I have been looking at:

Asus VS248H-P

ASUS VW266H

Solution
Either one of those would be fine and I would go with the 25.6 monitor.
No you can't see the individual pixels on larger screens.
I have a 30" monitor and I can't see the individual pixels.
1080p is HD and you get a high defenition picture which would not be HD if you could see the pixels.
