Since Windows 10 is out I am gonna upgrade to it but before I do that I wanna get a SSD because right now I just have a Western Digital Back. I have deiced on getting the SAMSUNG 850 EVO 120GB and installing Windows on to it then upgrading it to 10. But before I get the drive will it work with Windows 10 ok? And another question what should I do with the Western Digital's windows installed on it should I delete it or keep it on or will I have to reformat the drive?

Solution
1. Yes that drive will work with Windows 10 no problem
2. Reformat your old HDD, after you get everything working on the new SSD.

Install your current OS on the SSD, with only that drive connected.
Upgrade to Win 10
Then reconnect the old HDD, wipe it all out, and use it for whatever.

The 850 EVO is a great choice. You should install Windows on the SSD and use the secondary hard drive for storing some extra files, while using the SSD for programs that you open more often. It will work with Windows 10 great. If I'm not mistaken the SSD comes with a program that can copy the files from your hard drive to it. After that you can just format the HDD and use it for storage.

You could use Acronis True Image, Western Digital edition (on their site) to clone your Black drive to the SSD (if all the data on the Black fits) so you don't have to reinstall windows. Then reformat the Black drive so it's empty for storage, though maybe use that drive as a backup drive of your main drive... At any time you can upgrade to win10.

I cant do that because the SSD I am getting only holds 120GB and I have about 300GB of stuff
