Question Getting a replacement after warranty claim for Gigabyte G24F2, can I Store it for 6months approx?

Hello, my monitor of 6 months old had some line issues on it like a grid and I claimed warranty and its getting replaced/upgraded to Gigabyte GS27fC from the Gigabyte service center. The reason being, the monitor I had is out of stock on their end and this is the only option I had.

Now another issue is that I fear that my GPU is getting old and might die soon as it is 6 years old at least and the ports are oxidized. The monitor I currently use is my old one which uses HDMI port and its working with no problems but if I use DP ports for the new monitor, I feel there might be problems so I want to keep the monitor until I can upgrade my PC 6 months later. Is it safe to keep the new one that I get for 6 months unsealed?

I would look into port dust covers if I were you if you want to protect the ports but you should be fine as is.

For the future GPU yes, I feel thats a good option for me.
