Hello guys, I’m currently building a budget gaming desktop. I already have 8 gigs of ram, a 1050 ti, a decent power supply, and all I need is an SSD. My desktop is a Dell Optiplex 390, I basically got it for free.

Okay so on going with the upgrading SSD thing. I’ve noticed that when I go to my bios, and on to “SATA operation” I only have 2 options
1.Disable SATA
2.ATA or something
But I do not see a AHCI option, after doing some research, most say it was the chipset along with the motherboard (H61) does not support AHCI. Now is that gonna be a problem when I buy an SSD, will it be compatible, and if so, will speeds be worse while on IDE, like will my SSD perform as my HDD that I have right now?
