Why are you not downloading from google store?

Get the app on Google Play store' connected device, then transfer it over, there are many .apk backup / restore apps.

Couple of reasons you might not want to download from the Play Store.

1. You maybe short on space and may want to keep a collection of APKs on your hard drive / cloud storage
2. To get around country restrictions.

Is that possible?

There are several online sites which can generate .apk file for you, just google APK generator.
You can also download APK by first installing it on your android device and then using APK extractor app to get apk file.
