Hello, everyone.

I recently decided to upgrade my system a bit, seeing as some of the hardware was getting a bit old. After getting everything set up and some games installed, I decided to test out my new graphics card. It runs great on most games, but there are a few I'm having some serious issues on. After reinstalling Guild Wars 2, I went to play it. About 10-15 minutes into the game, my screen goes black, and all of my devices turn off. Sound continues for a few seconds but then cuts out. The only other game this crash happens in is Final Fantasy XIV which crashes within 2 minutes of logging in.The only way I can get everything back to normal is to hard restart. I've been talking with EVGA and a few other places but to no avail. Here are some of the things I've tried:
1. Re installing video drivers. Didn't do anything.
2. Rolling back to old drivers. I thought it may have helped, but I'm getting some issues in other games as well.
3. Ran benchmarks to determine if card performance was low. Performance was not low.

I'm out of ideas. It has to be something to do with the software. I can run other games without issues, but some of them just crash my whole PC.
Games that cause black screen crashes: Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy XIV
Games that have other issues such as flickering, flashing: Elite: Dangerous, Diablo III

System specs:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
Graphics: EVGA GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0
RAM: 16G DDR3
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel
Power Supply: Raidmax 640W
Processor: Intel i5 2500k Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

Error I receive upon rebooting is VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116).

Let me know if you require any more information, I'm sick of this issue and really want to resolve it as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Solution
make sure the mb has the newest bios file to rule out a bios bug. use msi afterburner to log gpu voltages. your raidmax power supply may not be holding up under load. rippling out or dropping below atx spec.

Update: I removed my 980 and switched back to my old card to see if any of the problems persisted. No crashes or anything so far. Sending the 980 out for RMA tomorrow. If I get issues with this one I'll look at my other components as well. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the PSU or the motherboard. Thanks for the support :D
