I have an issue that is well outlined here. But that thread is closed for further discussion.

I have followed these instructions and have an ongoing thread over at Unbuntu Forums as well for this task.

So far I just cannot get the drive to be recognized. IIt spins up, but just cant seem to "see" it on the Linux system as outlined.

Seagate 2TB 3.5" drive from an Iomega Home Media NAS
Mac OS X
iMac Desktop and MacBookPro
Sabrent SATA-C35U Serial ATA to USB 2.0 Cable Converter Adapter with Power Supply
VirtuaBox for OSX
Unbuntu

thanks so much!

Henry

Any thoughts on other things to try would be appreciated. I

You removed the drive from the NAS? It was not working there either? Or with a USB adapter or directly on a SATA drive? Send it off to a recovery company, you won't be able to do anything further to it unless you want to try a board and power/sata connector swap. For the board swap to work you will need to find the exact same board, same revision, even then it may not work.
