Getting frame drop outs on 560ti

Hi, got a weird problem with my 560ti. On most graphics-intensive games from Moon Breakers, Crysis, BC2 and BF3 it runs great for about 5 minutes and then I notice that the GPU % drops from somewhere near 55-60 to 20% or less and the fps drops from near 100 to 40. The most noticable thing is that I get a repeating lag (fps lag?) like every 1/2 to 1 second. Its more noticable while in motion. Any ideas? I had upgraded to the latest driver, then went back to the 266 that came with it to see if that was the problem all to no avail. I'm thinking the gpu is toast.

Did you check CPU and GPU temperatures? Sounds like overheating. You can do that with HWMonitor:

Make sure to check temperatures when it's lagging, not while on desktop. Turn the program on, turn the game on, wait for it to start lagging and then check the temperatures.
