getting low fps with my gtx 970

Hey i just recently built my pc i have an i5 4590 and a gtx 970 i have all the newest drivers but for some reason im getting 70 fps on minecraft. yesterday i was getting around 300-500 and today it goes from 200-70 or sometimes even lower i really need help i have tried everything i can think of. ( i have v sync off and everything is low)

As a Minecraft player and by some random other things, its not your graphics card at all. Minecraft will run nearly the same on your computer if you were to take out the GPU and use the integrated Intel HD(R) Graphics in it. This is because Minecraft is coded in java, which relies on the CPU to do stuff. So in the long run, it could be your CPU not having enough power, or it could be your CPU struggling in non-superflat worlds.

Try going into your nvidia control panel click on global settings and look for power management mode and selecting prefer maximum performance > adaptive. Just an idea to toss out there not sure if it'll help.

This is not an answer but why do you get a 970 and a 4590 for minecraft? you can literally play that game on your phone

because some people (like me) play minecraft and a few other games and want high power for fps shaders modding servers and such k?

try setting minecraft to a higher end resource pack that requires more memory like a 128x128 pack and run shaders and see if your fps drops to like 15
