Getting low performance from i5 3570k 8gig dominator

Hi I bought i5 3750k , gigabyte z77x-ud3h plus 8 gig dominator 1600mgz yesterday to replace my old parts .. I have a amd radeon hd 6870 with 1gig ddr5 .. I was soo disappointed when I played games on it . to me it seems like my old 2010 setup was a lot better at handling game ? I had Asus m3n78-em . Amd phenom x4. plus the same graphic card I mentioned before and 4 gig Kingston ram. I finished far cry3 on it a week ago till it stopped working seemed like motherboard was faulty . I used to fun far cry on high to ultra setting ,without any sort of choppiness or lag on high setting it was a smooth gameplay throughout ..

But now after installing i5 new motherboard and double the ram it is laggy gameplay I am getting 35-50 frames a sec on high setting and on low settings I get around 80-90 frames .what is wrong . ..I am going physco nuts because I spent all my $600 saving on the new setup and I don't feel any difference it's just gotten worse 🙁 I have not clocked the i5 and never clocked my old CPU .i would have expected a lot better performance for what I paid for . I could have just gone out and bought a second hand asus for $40-50 and carried on .. Y 🙁 ? . I will really appreciate any help.

I used to have a 6850 and upgraded to an i5 from an oc'd core 2 quad and I noticed a significant improvement, but the video card was still a bottleneck. I doubt you were running farcry 3 on high-ultra, as much better video cards than yours struggle to run it on that. One of my first questions: did you install any lucid virtu software that came with your motherboard disc? uninstall it, it is poo. I actually found my pc to run faster with only installing the bare minimum drivers from the motherboard disc.

Having trouble installing the latest driver. I will reinstall windows 8 now and start from scratch and see how it goes .

Upgraded it last night I hope it's something to do with software than hardware :3

It's was running around 35-40 fps on ultra before I upgraded and on high I was getting a good gameplay with decent frame rate without any lag ,that's why I ended up finishing the game. 😛 but I can really tell the difference now even on medium it feels a choppy and I get around 45-60 fps . I will uninstall the windows and the try only downloading the software I need for the build

Yeah now it seems strange to me how my setup manged to run that fast ? I will never know lol now another proble came up my the computer keeps freezing happen 5-6 times in last few hours . It's my first ever intel chip I never had any freezing or lag with amd :l

please don't blame the intel chip for your freezing and lag, there are plenty of others who would say the opposite.

please don't blame the intel chip for your freezing and lag, there are plenty of others who would say the opposite.

I went with intel I know it's good I am just talking from my experience personally. Regarding the problems I am facing ATM 🙁
