getting max perfomance in dual graphics

Hello i have an amd a8-4500m CPU,7640g+7670m dual graphics enabled,4gb ram.In many games i am not getting above 35 fps and sometimes the games lag.Is there anyway to squeeze perfomance out of dual graphics.I tried updating drivers.I have windows 8.1.
