am getting my new build this weekend and here is my config

CPU --> E8400
Mobo --> Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4
GPU --> XFX 8800GT Alpha dog
RAM --> 2GB Corsair DDR2 800mhz
PSU --> Corsair HX620W
Case --> Cooler Master CM690


Already have ViewSonic 19inch 1945wm monitor (1440*900) and Logitech X-530

Please answer the below questions (clarify my doubts please)

1> I have an Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 PCI card

and since i am selling of my old pc shall i sell this also i.e. is the onboard sound of my GA-EX38-DS4

2> Whats the differecne between the DS4,DS5 and DQ6 models... (still not clear)

I need only 2 GB and is a single 2GB RAM better than 1GB *2 RAM??

what OS will you be running? Vista or XP? Also there is another forum that this should be posted in, no worries though.
Personally i would let the Sound Card go because new onboard sound on newer mother boards sounds just as good, if not better than pci sound cards. no idea on question #2, i dont use a razer mouse but i really like my Logitech MX518 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104178, if it is compatible, and you are not a die hard corsair fan, i would look into the GSkill DDR2 800, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231122 4 gigs for cheaper than the 2 gigs you are looking at, i would check if it is compatible with that mobo first though.

E8400 --> 8000
GA-EX38-DS4 --> 12000 (ASUS Maximus Formula is 13000)
2GB DDR2 800 Mhz corsair value select is 4500
Corsair 620W is 6800
XFX 8800GT alpha dog (only thats available) --> 13500

So currently 1$ approximately 42Rupees
So DS4 mobo = 285$

OS --> Windows XP home edition may(not mostly) will try Vista

Again here GSkill make looks french and spanish to my dealer, just kidding!!!

Want to try Razer for the first time though!!!!!!

bushmaster td, here one ordinary (decent), cup of Cappuccino costs Rs 45+, more than a dollar$

So for 1> Sell of my old card
2> Mostly leaning towards EX38-DS4
3>Diamond black here comes for around 2300 (55$)

now with the HD i understand lol, i have that same one in my new rig, just remember when you get it, it has a itty bitty jumper that restricts it to run as a 1.5 SATA, take it out to enable 3.0 SATA

I agree i have just done the math and two sticks of 1GB DDR2-800 640 with timings of 4-4-4-12. Like the ones on the right at the top of your link will be just about perfect for your system.
Dont worry about the sound card i also agree with bushmastertd on this the onboard will be fine.
As for the motherboard it will give you the right mix of features and value for money.

the 8800GT's are very good cards for the money. The only dealing with XFX i have had is with a 7series card, but it ran great and very stabile. I like EVGA personally.

They may look sexier but the Zalman is by far a better cooling solution. The stock coolers(the sexy looking ones ) have been reported by some to have issues making the card run hotter than is ideal.
I would take the Zalman fan every time.

1> I need to transfer almost 110GB of data from my old IDE 160 GB Seagate HDD to my new one and btw thought of going with 7200.11 barracuda drive

and in that link it says SATA NCQ as interface so want to know whether its SATA 3.0 Gbps or something i.e. hopefully my mobo supports it, am interested in Seagate drives only from my past 40 and 160 gb drives experience and also in my hometown there are good dealers and service providers for it(not been to them so far as there was no problems with the drives)

So can i go for that drive mentioned in that link and any idea how many hours it will take to transfer 110GB of data, i hope it comes less than 2 hrs

2> This one is for my friend, yesterday he bought a 19 inch View Sonic monitor (he is also doing his upgrade)

and currently he has Intel 865 chipset based board with no GPU, the max resoluiton supported by the monitor is 1680x1050 but he is able to get only 1440*900 and i hope he has to upgrade his machine as i find no problems with his monitor, so please post your suggestions on that also.....

Right first the SATA NCQ question, read this http://www.dashdist.com/1u2u/company/NCQ.html
Data transfer isnt something i have much experiance with, windows has a built in transfer wizard its under start/all programs/accessories/systemtools/file and settings transfer wizard. Then just follow the onscreen prompts.
It does have a few limitations though. It wont copy actual programs so these will need to be installed first so that saved files have a destination to be saved to. Also it dosent handle .dat files and some system files. the wizard will tell you about this and prompt you as to what needs doing along the way.
There may well be a better program and maybe someone else will be able to help you more with this, and i will learn something new as well.
The 7200.11 looks good to me also.

For your friends problem i think you are asking for recomendations for a graphics card ?
If so we need to know the specs of his machine including PSU.

I dont think it will.
The chipset from what i can find was designed to run 1280X1024 max which is 1.25MP (Megapixels).
Your friend can run 1440X900 as thats slightly less at 1.24MP.
Here is the extract i found from the Microsoft tecnical data sheet.

All displays that are supported on the 865G/GV chipset-based platform will also function with
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004. The 865G/GV chipset-based platform with
Media Center supports most common resolutions up to 1280x1024@32bpp. All VGA displays are
supported with no additional hardware required. Any digital display listed below is also supported
via a third-party solution, such as an ADD card or a motherboard down solution. For a complete
list of ADD card vendors, contact your local Intel representative.

So going on that it wont support any higher than it is doing now. Like i said if your friend wants to know about a Graphics card to put in the system let us know the specs and PSU then we will see what we can find.
