Okay here are my current specs.

i5 4460 quad core 3.2ghz CPU
ASUS Z97 Pro Gamer USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0 motherboard
16gb of DDR3 1600 mhz RAM G-Skill
2 x ASUS GTX 970 Strix 4gb GDDR5 VRAM
240gb Mushkin SSD
Seagate 1tb 7200 RPM hdd
EVGA SuperNOVA 750w bronze 80+ PSU
Corsair H60 all in CPU water cooler

I'm currently in the progress of updating my rig and I know the CPU is something I need. I've been doing alot of multitasking lately and its really slowing donw my i5 CPU. I've done a fair amount of research but im still alittle overwhelmed by the hardware choices. Money is really not an issue I want a top line CPU. However I dont want to spend 1000 dollars just because its "NEW". I would like the price to match the performance however much it may be. Thank you for the help

I would just switch to something like an i7 4790k if you plan to overclock. Or a xeon 1231 v3 if you plan to keep stock clocks. The xeon is the same as the i7 except its cheaper (quite a lot cheaper right now), does not have an iGPU which you dont need, and 200mhz less on the base and boost...

I think the most intensive thing i will be using it for would be to stream and record AAA games. So waht do you think i need for sometthing like that?

Multi tasking might be the wrong description. My current problem is my inability to stream/record games via twitch or youtube. If you have any idea on how to turn my rig into a real beast then please let me know. I dont have a budget. But I'm also not trying to spend 1000+ if it wont substantially help out my rig.

If you are looking to stream and play triple A games on ultra settings, while maintaining a respectable FPS, my suggestion would be to get an x99 platform. The reason I say this is because you won't be able to game and stream at the same time (on an intel core i7 system), for the whole life of the machine, especially as newer triple A games come out with a higher performance demand. If you can wait, RYZEN will be coming out soon and will supposedly compete with x99 platform chips, in both price and performance. My thoughts are that as soon as ryzen is released, intel will respond with a new line of x99 equivalent platforms.
