Getting old data from HDD

My ssd that had my OS died on me today. As such, I installed a fresh OS onto my 1tb hdd that had all my other files on it, I realized that I can't access these files from the fresh OS.Is there any way to move over these files so I can access the files from the fresh OS?

Just change the permissions for the folders to which access is currently denied:

Right-click folder & choose Properties.
Click the Security tab.
Highlight the account you are currently logged on to.
Tick the required permissions below that.
Click 'OK'
