Getting Only 28 fps now but before upgrading motherboard i used to get 60+ fps in games

Hello There,

Currently i'm using-

Core i7-7700
Asus Rog Strix.. Z270F
Gskill z trident 3200Bus 8GB * 2
Gtx 1050 TI OC
Antec true power 650w

Before upgrading my motherboard,ram, processor i used to get 60+ fps and now I'm getting max 28fps..

I've already installed all mobo drivers and gpu drivers.. But still facing thid same problem..
What could be the possible reason and what can be the solution?

Have you made a Windows clean install after changing motherboard? If not, do that.

Yep, DRagor is correct.

When you change the motherboard you need to do a fresh Windows install.

The current installation contains invalid motherboard drivers, plus the registry contains a slew of invalid hardware references.
Only a fresh install can fix that.

Whilst existing Windows will tolerate some hardware changes (eg CPU, GPU), the mobo isn't one of them.

I know for a fact if you have Win 10 and you change the MB you don't have to do a clean reinstall. So I assume if you have 10 or 8, you just need to reactivate it.

I changed my MB, CPU, and RAM back in September and it ran just fine, all I had to do was reactivate my OS.
But I'm not sure that's the problem. A clean install is sort of a last resort.

Again that's assuming you have 10, possibly the same for 8. Because I think Kaby lake only works with 10. Could be wrong.

While it worked for you, does it mean it will work always, for everyone, in every scenario?

1) That's a very vague question, extenuating circumstances can change any outcome of any scenario....
2) Yes if you change a MB or CPU with Win 10 you won't have to do a clean install, you just have to call Microsoft and reactivate your key.

Barring that I would try other options first before doing a complete reinstall...

Could be a lot of things, bent CPU pins on the MB, poorly seated RAM, faulty MB, tons of other things. You shouldn't skip straight to the last resort option right off the bat.

Here is what I am thinking....

Kaby Lake requires Win 10.... if the OP doesn't have Win 10 it will
Most likely have issues.
If he does have Win 10, the OS wouldn't have effected it, and it's something else, unless he hasn't reactivated it, which I would also assume would cause some problems.

It seems I'm getting constant 28fps.. sometimes 29,30 but mostly 28.. Going to re install windows today..but what could be the reason of getting constant 28 instead >60

You can't really expect to troubleshoot effectively unless you do things the right way to start with. Get Windows properly installed, a clean install, first. Then update Windows. Then you can proceed. The only reason to not do a clean install of Windows after setting up a new computer is laziness. And don't kid yourself, a new motherboard/CPU/ram combo is effectively a new computer, not an 'upgrade'.

Anything other than that is just randomly trying different things, hoping you'll get lucky and find the issue.

Except it is completely unnecessary if he already has Win 10. If he doesn't by all means...

It doesn't help that he hasn't clarified this yet. So instead of wasting my time he can waste his own.

CPU temps in game? Could be the cooler isnt mounted right, or bad thermal paste after changing motherboard.

Since the hdmi is not 2.0 you need DisplayPort 1.2 connector for 4k.
At least this is what i read on different sites but i dont know exactly which type of it you need

Has solved The Problem.. My Window 10 Version didn't support my GPU drivers.. Later after getting the latest update of windows 10 it started to work.
