Hdmi works just fine for great resolution but the sound is not compatible when I plug it on pc monitor. So i bought an optical audio cable to see if the sound could came out, but it changes nothing, even though i've change PS3 sound settings to optical audio cable.

So i'll ask to anyone of the forum if ever they know how to solve this. By the way, the pc monitor brand is Shimian, i thought that this could give some clues, or it doesn't matter at all?

Xbox360 and Wii consoles works great with HDMI, both of them get the sound on my monitor, but i still got issues with PS3 sound.

I've recently test my PS3 on a Samsung HDTV with HDMI and the Video/sound works as it should. But my main objective is to get the sound working on my monitor.

Thanks in advance for your effort to answer this!

I don't have any VGA or DVI output since my PS3 is first generation, which means that it's compatible with PS1/PS2 games. I'd say that it would be the solution for the sound issue though.

But I have AV output and I don't want standard 480p quality, I'm looking for HDMI quality with sound that comes with it.
But thanks anyway.:)

Any ideas about how to solve this?
