I'm interested in getting started with naval miniatures. Can anyone
suggest a group in the Canton, Ohio (US) area?

TIA,

Bill

Bill, you might want to mention a period. Napoleonic? WW1 or 2? Ancient?
All the above?

Ray, my primary interests would be WWI, Spanish-American,
Russo-Japanese, and WWII. I'd like to find a group in my area with
similar interests. I would also like to find rules that can be played
solitaire. I'd like to begin with WWI miniatures in 1/2400 scale -
probably the GHQ ones as I like the detail and look forward to
painting them.

Before you buy rules you might consider trying out a few from this
site
http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/ most are 'home made' but whenever
I get into a new era I take a look here to see if I like the look of
any.

I presume you mean 'American war of Independence' by 'revolutionary
period' most rules for this era are not too complicated if you mean on
land, some naval rules can get bogged down in currents/wind
direction/sail rigging etc.. but like wargamers themselves some rules
are simple others brain-achingly complicated!

A serch on line will turn up loads of suppliers for rules and
figures, this site may also be useful, it also groups traders of
certain eras and scales together so you can have an instant list of
suppliers of 15mm AWI figures for instance.

Hope that helps.
