Getting the most out of my rig?

Hey guys, for the past few months I have been having a lot of issues with my PC shutting off randomly in times of need. I manage a blog and a YouTube channel as a second form of income and whenever I would be streaming, playing video games or doing too much at the same time my computer would force shut down.

After doing my own research on everything, it came down to two options; A: my computer was overheating and the shut down was to prevent damage to my computer or B: the PSU was not able to keep up with the demands of what I was trying to do. Now because of this, I decided to first try and clean out my computer that was filled with dust.

Yesterday I gutted the insides of my computer and did a complete interior cleaning, I also added a H100i cooler to my CPU. I think this has solved my shut down issue. My question for you is, what can I do to get the most our of the rig I am working with. Here are my specs, what is holding me back the most? Also, what can I do with what I am working with to improve overall performance?

CPU: AMD FX-8350
Cooling: Corsair H100i Liquid Cooling
PSU: Corsair GS600
Mobo: ASUS
RAM: 8GB Vengence
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 460
HDD: 500GB

Is there anything I may have missed?

Solution
Free Options:
-Make sure all your drivers/BIOS/Windows Updates are up-to-date.
-Run Anti-Virus/Malware programs to ensure your system is clean.
-Rebuild File indexing, Option is located on the left of the screen where it show the Windows Index Experience numbers.
-Run disk cleanup/disk defragmenter.
-Overclock the CPU

Paid Options:
-Buy a new PSU if shutdown issue still occurs.
-Buy a new GPU (If gaming).

I would be switching to the fastest HD replacement your mobo will take - a Samsung 850 Pro would be a great place to start (presuming you have Sata III, otherwise go budget, eg Crucal MX100)

If your CPU is overclocked then you may need a better PSU to maintain stability - Corsair GS series isn't really meant for it, and may not be keeping up, contributing to your random shutdowns)

SSD as a scratch disk and another dedicated hard drive for media/footage as well as 16 GB of RAM and enable CUDA accelerated effects if possible (not sure what program you are working with) if you can preview your project in say Premiere Pro which I know a lot of people use, all these will speed up overall render times/workflow if time really is money.

Yeah or just go with a hard drive if you need more space, the important part is to not have it write to your primary drive while you're working as it'll slow everything down. Considering you may not have the biggest budget going with a SSD as primary and your current hard drive as a scratch disk and the third hard drive if you buy one should be the biggest containing all your media, and of course backup drive somewhere outside your computer. :)
