Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700KF
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB
Mobo: Tuf gaming Z690 plus wifi
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz
SSD: 1TB PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H115i Elite Capellix
PSU: Corsair RM850x 850W Gold

So it's been about a month and a half since I bought the above new prebuilt and I'm still experiencing freezes requiring a hard reset via holding down the power button. I updated all the drivers, clean installed windows 10, and updated the bios to the latest version. Doing these things have helped somewhat as the time between each freezes has gotten longer. For instance, before I updated the bios, my pc would freeze every other day or so. Nowadays it's every 5 or 6 days. An improvement yes but it still shouldn't freeze, this is not normal.

Now, my guess is that these freezes are hardware related. There are so many parts that can be the culprit when it comes to freezes so I would like some help in narrowing things down. There are couple of other facts about my pc that may or may not be related to the freezes. My gut is telling me that they’re connected somehow. Here they are:

  1. My computer freezes every 5 or 6 days. Not everyday at random times. Almost as if something has to “build up” before it culminates to a freeze requiring a hard reset. And doing this hard reset actually resets things where the entire cycle of “building up” starts anew.
  2. My pc from time to time, especially as the week progresses, makes these weird and faint popping sounds like what you’ll hear in the exhaust of some high performance automobiles. The keyword here being “faint” as it does not sound nearly as loud or aggressive as the exhaust coming from a car. But it’s a peculiar sound. I guess it also kind of sounds like static discharge.
  3. On my monitor, truly at random times, I will see a small checkerboard pattern that flashes for just a split second and it goes away.

Fact #1 and 2 just seem like these freezes are static related…but I don’t touch my pc unless I have to press the power button. If anyone can offer me their 2 cents, I would appreciate it.
