i just got the rog gaming strix 1080 and since i have been playing some games with it i have been noticing that i am getting extremley low performance compared to others online. for example when i play battlfield 1 at 1080p with the ultra preset i only seem to get between 50-70 fps, even though others with the exact same specs as me seem to get 130-160 fps consistenly. i have tried reformatted my pc and tried reinstalling my drivers several times and i still get the same performance. Would apriciate it very much if somebody would help me with this problem.

specs:

i7-6700 (3.8 mhz)

z170A PC MATE

Asus rog Strix Gtx 1080 OC

16 gb ddr4

Cooler Master 650w psu

I believe that those adapters can cause lag. Other than that I'm not sure what it could be.

The most common cause of low frame rate is too many background programs running, such as anti-virus. The next cause is simply not rebooting often, nothing like a reboot to speed things up for a while. All this is assuming you've got good cooling and not thermal throttling and you don't have any hardware clashes, which you shouldn't.

adapter do not cause lag as there is no processing being done. I agree with the previous reply that you should check to make sure there isnt another program hogging resources , and check temps. In addition to this i would mention that it might not be a bad idea to uninstall programs that are not being used anymore.

A lot of people online brag about higher FPS than they really get. On max settings BF1, on a GTX 1080, 50-70 FPS is probably right. In fact, I've seen a lot of people online with GTX 1080 saying that on BF1 they are only getting 50-70 FPS, and others saying "weird, you should be getting 100+ FPS".

My guess is that other people are lying. Find other people with GTX 1080, and ask the average FPS they get on BF1 on Ultra settings.

BF1 is a cpu intense game. My R9 290x runs at over 100fps on single player, 1080p on Ultra. On 64 player maps it usually still hits 60fps, but at times drops a bit, and it really doesn't matter which graphics settings I use, it's the cpu that's limiting the frames.

i usually only have like 4-7% backround cpu usage and my cpu is watercooled so it usually dosent go above 60 celsius. my gpu dosent go above 60 either
